Celebrating 175 years of CWI!

175th Anniversary celebration, St Aldate's Church Oxford, 27th January 2018

A big thank you to everyone who joined us to commemorate our 175th Anniversary in Oxford at the end of January! It was an amazing day of celebration and fellowship, and a wonderful time of thanksgiving for God's goodness to CWI over nearly two centuries.

The day kicked off with CWI's CEO Rev Joseph Steinberg delivering a passionate message on the opportunities and challenges facing CWI, highlighting the importance of continuing to do the one thing the mission was set up to do - telling Jewish people about Jesus.

Following this, our current missionary staff introduced themselves and the areas in which they work. There were two missionary interview panels, led by CWI's Head of Ministry Richard Gibson and Naomi Steinberg, focusing on our work in Israel and Europe during which our missionaries shared reports on those they have been reaching out to with the Good News.

Former CEO John Ross gave an illuminating talk on the history of CWI, looking at three main periods in the life of the mission, including the children who came over on the Kindertransport and were raised in CWI's orphanage in South London. The day ended with a celebration service and an excellent message from St Aldate’s Pastor of Theology Simon Ponsonby on the importance of CWI's work and the necessity of the Church to correctly understand the vital part Jewish mission plays in the growth of God’s kingdom.

If you weren't able to join us we will shortly be releasing a DVD of the day so keep an eye out for further information!
